The service project is a part of the Sacramento Community Climate Action Day. Community Climate Action Days are an opportunity to work on projects protecting our communities against the harshest impacts of climate change while improving our quality of life and access to green spaces. These service days combine the forces of the California Service Corps, local community partners, leaders, nonprofits, elected officials and hundreds of volunteers in a powerful day of service. All volunteers will join the Climate Action Counts campaign to stay connected on future opportunities to stay engaged in this important work. This opportunity is made possible through partnerships at the state and local level, including: California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Keep California Beautiful, and the Sacramento Valley Conservancy.
Role
Before completing their service project, volunteers will learn the recommended practices in this region for wildfire resilience led by the Sacramento Valley Conservancy staff, which will include: native species planting, invasive plant removal, trail maintenance and more!
