Become a Donor
If you live in the Golden State then you’re familiar with the threat of wildfire. But fire season doesn’t have to leave us feeling fearful or helpless. There are measures we can take to keep us safe. Gifts to the California Fire Safe Council strengthen our networks of dedicated leaders, preparing and empowering communities to withstand wildfire.
Whether it’s supporting chipper days, home hardening education, or community fire planning our network of 300+ Fire Safe Councils are working tirelessly each day. These local councils provide critical services to the most vulnerable and under-resourced communities. 100% of your gift is tax-deductible.
Give Monthly
Fire season has taught us to be prepared for the unexpected. Your consistent, reliable giving as a monthly donor allows us to do the same. We plan for the unexpected, allocating funds to those who are in the highest wildfire risk areas when other resources fall short. Monthly giving can also be beneficial if you’re looking to make a big impact over a length of time rather than all at once. 100% of your gifts are tax-deductible.
Tribute Gifts
To make a memorial or honorary gift, simply name your honoree when you donate online. You may also contact Melanie Hogan via email or (279) 246–1700. If you would like your honoree or their loved one to be notified, please include a notification mailing address with your donation. We’ll let that person know you’ve made a thoughtful gift in their name. 100% of your gift is tax-deductible.
Donor Advised Funds
A donor advised fund (DAF) is a fast-growing charitable program administered by a public charity. It allows you to contribute to a fund, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grant investments to be distributed over time. If you have a DAF, you can recommend grants directly to support the California Fire Safe Council. Popular companies that offer DAFs include Fidelity Charitable and Schwab Charitable. Your local community foundation may also offer DAFs.
For more information about giving through your DAF, contact Melanie Hogan at mhogan@cafiresafecouncil.org .
Give Through Your Employer
Your employer may offer a payroll deduction to donate to California Fire Safe Council. It’s easy and convenient, plus your employer may match your employee giving, doubling or even tripling your gift! Some employers also match gifts from retirees, spouses, and board members. Ask your employer for their matching gift form and submit it online or send a copy to:
