Mason Thurmond is excited to serve as a Climate Action Corps fellow partnered with California FireSafe Council. She has enjoyed spending over six years as an outdoor educator for Southern California youth with the organizations All It Takes, Pali Institute, and Community Nature Connection. Prior to instructing full-time, she conducted algae, coffee agroecology, and honeybee learning research at UC San Diego. She looks forward to contributing her analytical expertise to the position. Mason is deeply interested in synthesizing her education and research experience in work that benefits and protects all Californians from wildfire, especially those made most vulnerable amongst us by our changing climate.
