2023/2024 State Fire Capacity (SFC) Grant
The California Fire Safe Council (CFSC) is pleased to announce that it has selected 17 projects for funding for the 2023 and 2024 State Fire Capacity Grant Programs. This amounts to $1,575,000.00 in federal grant funds to support wildfire risk reduction projects in at-risk communities in 15 counties across California. The selected projects, which include seven non-profit organizations, five resource conservation districts, and five special districts, will help California communities prepare for the growing concern of catastrophic wildfire. Through subgrants from CFSC, these projects will implement fuels reduction projects such as community chipper programs, fuel breaks, and roadside/defensible space projects. They will also develop and implement strategies to empower residents through wildfire risk and resilience education, outreach, and engagement.
Thank you to our partner, the Cooperative Fire Program of the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Department of Agriculture, Pacific Southwest Region for providing the funding for the 2023 and 2024 Grants Clearinghouse master grants. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
