Applications Now Open
for 2026 Release!

The 2026 update of the Fire Safe Business Directory will be released this spring. Details and listing fees are outlined below.

What is the Fire Safe Business Directory?

The California Fire Safe Council’s Business Directory promotes businesses in the fields of fire safety, prevention, and/or mitigation. In 2026, the Business Directory will be launched as an online searchable database. This first of its kind resource is a valuable tool for our community and will be distributed for free.

We’re connecting businesses throughout the state skilled in wildfire resiliency projects with new clients. Showcase your products and services to the entire network of local Fire Safe Councils by listing with us! (Fees outlined below.) We want to learn how your unique business can help build a wildfire-safe state.

Market Reach

Trusted Industry Recognition
Produced by the California Fire Safe Council, this resource is designed to be a go-to tool for those seeking wildfire safety products and services. Show your commitment by joining a network of businesses helping to create a more fire-adapted California.

Reach More Customers
The 2026 Fire Safe Business Directory will be hosted on our website as a searchable database. It will be promoted to thousands of individuals and organizations across the state via social media campaigns, email marketing, in-person conferences, and partner organization sites.

Market reach exceeds 12,000 monthly impressions across these channels. In addition, we will digitally promote a Fire Safe Virtual Expos webinar series in spring 2025 that provide even more exposure to the directory, as well as the showcased vendors. (See $3,999 listing option below.)

Dollars to Spend

Already this year, the California Fire Safe Council has awarded $11 million in grants to over 70 wildfire mitigation projects at local Fire Safe Councils, Fire Protection Districts, Resource Conservation Districts, HOAs, cities/towns, and other non-profits. Often, those projects require funding matches that double the funds available to $22 million.

And it doesn’t stop there. Many of our grantees are securing additional funds from a variety of private and public sources.

Frequently Asked Questions

The application process is based on the listing tier you choose.
Starter: Basic information with only proof of your business license or business entity.
Enterprise & Spotlight: To complete the application, you will need to provide several required documents, as well as optional documents. It will be helpful to have them available before applying.

For more details about the required documents and other questions, you may download our editable sample application by clicking here.

We’ve put together a robust Promotional Toolkit to streamline your marketing efforts. The Toolkit includes the following:

  • Graphics, Logos & Website Badges
  • Brand Guidelines
  • Email Content
  • Social Content: Graphics, Captions, & Hashtags

You will receive a link to the online toolkit once your business’s application has been accepted.

Please note a few important points about promotion:

  • You are encouraged to use the Fire Safe Business Directory logo and badges, but use of the organizational CFSF logo is not allowed at this time.
  • Please always hyperlink the Fire Safe Vendor List logo and reference the publication download page on our website here: https://cafiresafecouncil.org/2025-fire-safe-vendor-list/.
  • When referring to your participation in the Business Directory, please refrain from using language like “approved,” “certified,” or “vetted.” Instead, use the following: “[Your business name] is a proud participant of the 2025 Fire Safe Business Directory, a program of the California Fire Safe Council.]”

Currently, the best way to know is by asking your leads and clients directly. We recommend setting up a question on your website’s online forms (e.g. “How did you hear about us?”), as well as instructing your salespeople to routinely ask when fielding inquiries.

We would love to hear your metrics! Please contact Development Coordinator, Eileen Mello, to share data points. She can be reached at (279) 599-1052 or emello@cafiresafecouncil.org.

We do not provide contact information for each individual Fire Safe Council, but the information is often publicly available on internet search engines. We can, however, provide you with a contact list for the Wildfire County Coordinators.

We will only ever provide this information for individuals who have consented to receive direct email from vendors.

Like all businesses, CFSC needs to cover its programmatic expenses. Although we are a nonprofit, we must charge for the list in order to cover the cost of its production.

Applications will not be processed until we have received your $250 application fee. Listing fees may be paid upon approval of your application. Although we prefer credit card payments, you’re also welcome to pay via check.

In the memo, please denote the payment type. For example: “Business Directory Fee” or “Business Directory Application Fee.” Prior to sending a check, please notify Development Coordinator, Eileen Mello at emello@cafiresafecouncil.org or (279) 599-1052. Send checks to:

California Fire Safe Council
PO Box 848975
Los Angeles, CA 90084-8975

If you need to make payments in installments, please contact Eileen Mello.

You are always welcome to contact Development Coordinator, Eileen Mello at emello@cafiresafecouncil.org with questions or comments. We will also conduct a survey about your experience this fall.

The California Fire Safe Council does not test, certify, nor endorse the products or services of vendors presented in the Fire Safe Business Directory.  Users of the list must do their own diligence when selecting a business for their project. Vendors, like you, meet basic business requirements such as:

  • Proof of liability and workers’ comp insurances
  • Current business license
  • USDA certification regarding debarment and suspension

On the other hand, Cal Fire’s WUI Listed Products Handbook, is a list of reviewed and verified products that comply with Chapter 7A of the California Building Code. This list also only includes building materials such as decking, windows, doors, vents, and treated lumber.

Survey results show that 35% of users who contacted a vendor hired them. Because 2025 was the inaugural publication, our metrics are currently limited.

If you have specific questions, please contact Development Coordinator, Eileen Mello, with your specific questions. She may be reached at emello@cafiresafecouncil.org or 279.599.1052.
