This two-day event will bring oak experts from Washington, Oregon, and California to share new research findings and management approaches. Presentation topics include ecology and natural history, cultural resources, restoration and management, policy issues, and more. November 12 will include a day of presentations, a mapping and informatics workshop, and an evening social with a poster session and oak-themed art exhibit. November 13 will provide two field trip choices: one to Redwood National Park to review restoration strategies and biodiversity responses, and the other to the private lands of the Yager Environmental Stewards to review restoration strategies and policy issues.

Lodging will be available at the Red Lion Hotel in Eureka, which is just a short distance from the Sequoia Center. A block rate of $79 is available to all symposium guests. You can reserve a room in the “Oak Symposium” block by calling Elizabeth at 707-441-4705. The Red Lion provides shuttles to and from the airport, so make sure to ask about that if you are flying in. They will also provide shuttle services to the symposium on Nov. 12. The room block will be released the week before the conference, so be sure to reserve soon!
