DESCRIPTION:The Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council invites you to join a Wildfire Café; a welcoming\, supportive space to connect\, reflect\, and heal together one year after the 2025 fires. \nModeled after Climate Cafés\, Wildfire Cafés are facilitated\, community-centered conversations that offer a safe\, judgment-free environment to share thoughts and feelings. These gatherings are not lectures or action-oriented sessions\, and no advice is given. Instead\, they are spaces for listening\, validation\, reflection\, and emotional support in community. \n🗓 Virtual Café: January 29 | 6–8 PM \n📍 In-person Café: February 7 | 10 AM–1 PM @ The Getty Villa \nLight refreshments and complimentary parking will be provided for the in-person event. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy the Getty Villa museum and gardens after the event. \nThe cafés are facilitated by Maksim\, an artist and climate mental health facilitator featured by The Washington Post and the UN Science Summit\, and Cindy\, a climate action specialist and artist with Berkeley Law’s Center for Law\, Energy\, and the Environment (CLEE)\, whose work focuses on resilience\, community care\, and environmental justice. \nThese events are free\, open to all ages\, and open to community members impacted by wildfire and ecological change. \nPlease click here to RSVP. \nFunding provided by Edison International through the California Fire Safe Council.
