CFSC is pleased to announce Alex Horangic and Anne Pandey have joined CFSC’s team as Grant Specialists in early October 2015. Anne Pandey joins CFSC in the Glendora Administrative Office as the Southern California Grant Specialist. Alex Horangic joins the McClellan office as the Northern California Grant Specialist. Both women bring diverse experience and a fantastic team spirit.
|Alex Horangic will manage subgrants in the northern portion of California. She provides grant management training and resources to support local organization goals of wildfire mitigation, and monitors grantee performance. Alex understands the importance of community empowerment and is eager to promote fire safe communities.
Alex holds a geology degree from Humboldt State University and a Master’s degree in geography from the University of Nevada, Reno. Alex has conducted research on collaborative and participatory processes within natural resource management. In her free time Alex enjoys whitewater taking her two seater kayak and go around California and the world.
|As a Grant Specialist, Anne Pandey will provide technical assistance and program guidance to grantees throughout Southern California. She ensures compliance with policies and procedures, monitors grantee progress on accomplishing scope of work described in the grant application, and ensure grant funds are spent in accordance with grant regulations. Anne thrives in a collaborative environment and looks forward to continuing CFSC’s tradition of strong, positive partnerships with our stakeholders and a tireless dedication to fire prevention.
Anne has a BA in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Master of Science degree in Regenerative Studies from Cal Poly Pomona. Regenerative Studies is an interdisciplinary program that looks at our human systems and the use of regenerative practices as a pathway to environmental sustainability, placing an emphasis on developing resilient communities that are capable of being revitalized and regenerated through the integration of natural processes, community action and human behavior. Anne lives with her husband and three children, two cats and a dog. She loves the happy chaos they create together! When she can find the time, she enjoys camping and hiking with her family (she always gets the best cooler when going camping).
